Do you mean sewing them whilst they are being boiled/drying, not actually sewing them permanently? LOL! Yes, more fiddly, but I guess it might work. Or tying them with string. I think I will try and get some doll curlers from the Pound Shop and see how well that goes.

i would maybe pin curl them with grips....put one of your lil hairnets over the wig...spray with some kind of setting stuff and leave it to set over night..maybe in the airing cupboard that way you will get the heat but not overdone too much....

My problem is linny that I can't get hari grips small enough to do those tiny curls. I had a look in the Pound shop for some tiny curlers today but didn't see any. However, I'm pretty sure the girls have some doll curlers I coudl use, if only I could find them. And I do want the curls to be permanent so I will try the boiling method or I will have to do it all over again soon.

Mich, I don't think I will stitch them. As you know, my obession is close-up realism and I don't want thread showing or for the curls to not hang naturally.

mmm this is a puzzler....when i first started sculpting my fairy hair was viscose...the best way i found to curl it was round a toothpick in a curl, then spray with water then shove in the oven for 15 mins on 100...maybe some of these priciples may come in handy.....

AHA in that link it said about using pipe cleaners, this would act like a bendy curler for human hair, it would secure in but bending the ends when you have wound the curl!

I remember now why I haven't used them much is because they were too big for Momo, which is who I bought them for. They're still a little big on Blood but I think we'd be hard pushed to find bobby pins in doll size.

I had a play around and was able to hide most of it underneath the layers of his hair so it looked like it could be in scale.

I've got 3 different sorts, and two of each.

I'd like to keep at least one of each style but your more then welcome to one or two of them.
I personally find bobby pins to be a pain in the arse to use, never got on with them even using them on my own hair. I find normal hairclips to be easier to use, but I've never seen anything with diamonds on.

Yes, that might work. I do like the one with the three diamnonds and I wonder whether they couldn't be shortened with a hacksaw or wire cutters. But I am with you on the bobby pins/kirby grip thing. They don't seem to hold onto much, do they? I was wondering whether I could superglue crystals onto a normal doll/teeny hair grip. However, apart from the one I stole borrowed from the children, I can't find any of those either.

Tell you what, I would love to have a go with one of the three diamond ones so, if I can't think of any better ideas by Expo, could you bring one along?

Gawd...I started to put the head gear on again, and a strap broke,while I fixed one thing another thing slipped or fell off then the bloody corset cracked( which I've had to superglue)...so yeah not happy..Arrrgghhhh.....I've got more sticking to do, then want to get the bloody thing done!As I swear I'm not taking anything off again!* TD;DR: LOTS of swearing at Pony girl!*

I am really going to get into how to rivet leather as I am sure that is the way to go with straps. Once it is rivetted, it shouldn't budge. Ever. However, I suspect rivetting is going to be as much of a pain as eyelets. Did you use leather or vinyl for your straps?

Oh no mau...it was a belt I used that I had the trouble with...( so a doll belt), as I went to tighten it on her head, it snapped, but I managed to salvage it....I have also gloss varnished the corset so now it looks more like pvc.....but yeah...a pain in the arse as I say....
