After a little too long waiting (I thought the Royal Mail had eaten him) I got a tiny little parcel heralding a tiny little addition to the resin family!

Gunner! Originally Drum, people seemed to like Gunner more..
He is a teeny tiny little horse-antho bjd from a lovely person in the US who has just started trying to expand into dolls. :] She makes very interesting stoofz and is known as Blitzava on Y!Gallery and DA if you want to have a look.

He's an artist doll so if you want him down then I'll happily remove him, but I figured as we aren't the dictatorship of DoA that I would share him with you all as if anything he's an interesting little thing to look at.

He's still a WIP on my end, I haven't finished sanding him down, sealing or painting him etc etc yet, so be patient with me plz!

Just to show you how tiny he is! He is in fact a good couple of cm's smaller than Abelard the pukipuki!


He is light enough for Abelard to hold onto without being fragile (so far..)!

The headcap fits best with the ears back, but it can be made to fit the other way a little better by peeling away a few layers of resin.

OMG! Look at that! That isn't by misticunicorn on DoA, is it? I saw someone start a horse doll just like this but I don't know that she ever posted completed pictures. He is abslutely amazing. I do very much hope that he is severely limited or unfeasibly expensive, as I would be drawn in there. Congrats!

ETA: No it is Shejackal. I had been following her pony for a while and loved his body shape. Jeez! I am getting soooo tempted, damn you!

Yes, sorry, I forgot she was also on DoA until they closed down the workshop.. Artist doll.. Section thing. lol! And she was she-jackal on there. :]
The little guy cost me a grand total of $60! And I am very pleased with him, though he does suffer from an overly complex way of being strung up.. That and the ball joints on his arm do like to slip out a LOT.. But those are my only complaints, and it's something that can be fixed. :]

I think she's put the price up a litle now, Mau but she may still have a pony or canine that are looking for a good home!

Nooooo! Actually, I have already noted her DA asking about ordering. I would love to get an Edward and make some teeny horns and have a miniature Minotaur. If she is still selling, I wil reward myself with one ONLY if I mamage to complete my company accounts by the end of next week. Incentive to sift through all those bloody receipts.

I think Edawrd has 'clean' legs..? I only ask as there are quite a few specks of dust in the resin which have been caught in some of the details on my pony.. But then as he was a test I wasn't expecting perfection and I plan on painting over them anyway! Just something to ask about if you go ahead with it, Mau! :3

I have no idea. I know she is casting and selling at cons, so it has gone beyond the "trial casting" stage. How did you get hold of yours? I searched in her DA thread and really couldn't make out who was the up to date version, what the differences are etc etc. So far, I think I have twigged that Angelo is the unicorn with cloven hooves (but I am not sure if he is open eyed or has half-closed eyes), Edward is the pony (what you have, no?) and Fenris is the doggy. There are also a couple of stranger-looking ones that don't hold me so I haven't tried to decipher them.

What is confusing me is that there seem to be subtle differences in the pony moulds, and it isn't clear which is the new version. For example, yours has feathery hooves and the apparenytly current version just has little indentations for fetlock hair. Hm.

As far as I am aware, Angelo the unicorn only comes with the half closed eyes, the pony comes with eyes open.
She did option parts, which were the solid pony hooves and the cloven hooves along with the feathered pony legs and the 'clean' legs. I think you can request which one you would like, she sent me all of the options so if you want to have a look at some point I'll photo them or could get a coffee and I'll stuff them in my bag. xD

Edward, I believe, is bigger than my dinky little pony, so I'm not sure if he would have the various options that the teeny tiny anthro dolls have. So if he currently has the clean legs then I think that's what he's stuck with, though she may not be too adverse to sculpting feathered legs, but I don't know what her workload it atm. :]

I got my pony doll on Y!Gallery, when I saw her upload them as a WIP in a doll club. She had her prices and notes in her journal on there and we sent her a PM if we wanted to give one a good home.

waaaaay cuter than i thought he would be, and soooooo diddy, he's like the clod of the doll world, and a horsey to boot!

She got back to me. She is just tinkering with the headcaps at the moment as she doens't think they are perfect enough. So, full sales should start in a month or so.

You were right, Edward is the "big" horsey, so not what I want. If you aren't too miffed, I might go for a lil' pony and optional cloven hooves as well, to make my minitaur out of. I might just get a unicorn head put in there are well as I can't make up my mind!

I'm glad she's doing some more work on the headcaps. They are a bit of a struggle to get them to sit right, but shaving off little bits of resin with a scalpel helps.
The unocorn head is super cute though, so I'd wholly recommend going for it if you want. I'll try taking some pics of the head.. Though it will be disembodied.. As well.. H's still hanging up in bits while I wait for better weather.. *shakes a fist at the rain* Cuurrrrrses!

Thanks. I just don't like being a copy cat. I guess I just have to reassure myself that I had her thread subscribed on DoA in the hopes that she would finish these things and sell them. Then the workshop section closed. I think it was the lovely little baby belly that rally got me when I first saw the pictures. But I didn't realise how tiny they are until I saw your Puki comparsion. That closed the deal for me.

I would love to see some better pics of the unicorn head, disembodied or not.

What are you using for eyes?

Jeez! I'm already starting to plan what I am going to do with mine, and I haven't even earned it yet! Luckily, she is fine with mods being done, so the Minitaur becomes a real possibility. She will be working on a bovine head soon, but I think that horsey head will do the job of a bull just as well.

Well, now that the heavens have well and truly opened, you wont be doing any spraying today, I suspect!

:'D Something as small as a puki is always something I really want.. And justify with 'they don't take up much room'. Heehee!
As it's thundering, I'll just make a cup of tea then I'll take some pictures of the Angelo head for you and tack them on to the bottom of my first post in here then. :]

For eyes, at the moment all I am using are two glass beads that Blitzava sent in the pony head.. Pukipuki take 8mm I think..? Either way I know they are far too big to fit in the pony head and I recall Blitzava saying that they would have to take something 5mm or smaller?
EDIT: I was just peeking inside the heads and noticed that they seem to have a cylendrical/tunnel like cavity to the back of the eye sockets, so I'm not sure if maybe this could be chiselled out to accomodate slightly larger eyes?
Again, I'll try taking pics of this. :]

I wouldn't try chiselling out the eyes unless you have a miniscule beveller as I suspect the resin is very thin. The eyes can barely be seen anyway. I'm sure there is something suitable in Brighton Beads that will do the job. They must hate me spending ages in there and only ever buying pence worth of stuff!
